Social scientist Sabrina Zajak is academic assistant at the Research Centre for Civic Engagement at the University of Berlin.

Since September 2007 she is doing a doctoral degree about ‘transnational pathways of influencing labor politics in Chinese supply chains’ at the university of Cologne (expected end summer 2011).
Between October 2007 and January 2011 Sabrina was a PhD fellow at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy (IMPRS-SPCE) of the Max-Planck-Institute for the Studies of Societies, Cologne, where she is still affiliated with the Research Group "Institution Building across Borders" lead by Prof. Sigrid Quack.

Between August 2009 and February she spend time at the Department of Sociology, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA, as a visiting fellow. Since 2009 she is founding member of the Network of Young Scholars on „New Perspectives on Social Movement Research“.

She studied social sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin until September 2007 and finished her studies with her diploma thesis about the’ influence of civil society on transnational companies’. During her studies she was a student assistant at the Social Science Research Center (WZB) in the research group ‘Civil Society, Citizenship and Mobilization in Europe’ lead by Prof. Dieter Rucht.
