Goals
Three central objectives
The Research Center for Civic Engagement focuses on research, advice and stimulus for public discussions.
(1) Research
Within the scope of research and evaluative studies for our partners and clients, we systematically address the central aspects of the civic engagement of individuals and organisations at a theoretical and empirical level.
Supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the state and Länder ministries or scientific foundations, the results of the research form the basis for our applied evaluations in companies, non-profit organisations or public institutions
(2) Advice
With the help of applied evaluations, we advise our partners and clients from non-profit organisations and the state regarding action related to specific issues of civic engagement.We employ typical research methods from the social sciences to systematically assess the conception, development, realisation and benefits of intervention programmes in the field of civic engagement. With this information, we can improve the planning and the monitoring of these programmes as well as their effectiveness and efficiency.
(3) Stimulus
Our research and advice is intended to provide an objective and political stimulus which can be used in the public arena for the debate on civic engagement.
